I fear the magic will be gone, that a second trip would reveal an underbelly that is not so pleasant, one I know is there but prefer to ignore. It’s my prerogative to do so.

You know Jeanne, I have visited, and I have re-visited India 12 times spanning 27-years. KNOWING of the unpleasant underbelly you mention. But it has not bothered me nor hindered me from again returning. It is what it is. Acceptance is the simple answer. So why not return again? To the places you first visited. But it is so vast you could return again and again and not revisit prior places.

In the final analysis, the magic is within YOU far more than within the place. Magic is what you create in your own mind. Great Writing. Smiles. The sunrises and sunsets also continue to be stunning ... no wonder Africa prodded you to go back specifically to do photography. Awesome, all of it!!! Hugs. Maybe you could just spend the Alaskan winters in Africa. I'm sure they would love your keeping Africa clean.Bud Sprengernoreply@blogger.com
