Hoping the eagle soars

The country is torn apart.   Some are cautiously optimistic while others are despondent.

To paraphrase well-known journalist Brit Hume:   Survival is built into the Constitution.  The Republic will survive.

  1. As I understand it, Mr. Trump won BOTH the overall majority vote and the Electorial College majority. Did people vote for him or did they vote against the other option. He certainly seems to be his own man, and not possessed by special interests. The times they are a changing aren't they. Smiles, Cap

  3. As of today, Clinton won the popular vote by more than 200,000, but Trump won the electoral votes. In 14 states, more voters voted the down ballot choices rather than for a presidential candidate. Clinton's popular vote number will change as absentee votes roll in and are counted, so that number remains in question.

Meanwhile, protesters are in the streets of many cities shouting obscenities and Not My President. The party that claims to be tolerant is showing itself it isn't. Sigh.

  4. Pay back time I guess. I have been trying and I have been trying again and again to get a comment posted here. No luck. Like has happened to YOU with my websites. Thus I call it pay back time.

If I correctly recall, the far right did not demonstrate its dissatisfaction with the results of the 2012 election. Or did they? I don't recall any such protests out in the streets. So here we have the liberal left out in the streets. The oxymoron is this: We don't like things as they have been and we don't like change.

Mr. Trump may, and he may not, bring change. The alternative had no such possibility. They have had 8 years to do it. I want to feel safe and to know my truck in Anchorage Alaska will not again be broken into when I awake the next morning. I would like CHANGE. That is what the vote asks for .. CHANGE.

Will this get posted. THAT would be a change. Smiling and safe here in the United Arab Emirates. NO. No one I know here in the UAE gives one hoot about our election. YOUR press there is telling you the world is upset. Well not here.

From what I have read, in the two largest Islam communities in the U.S. (Dearborn Michigan and I don't recall the other) voted overwhelmingly for Mr. Trump. So take Islam out of the mix here.

I tried for 20 minutes to get this opportunity to put up a reply. Like you could NOT get into my websites on occasion to post comments. Well I finally prevailed and here I am. Then I just lost a long reply. It was not meant to be. The liberal left does not want to hear the fascist right. What an oxymoron. We are not happy with what we have and we don't want change. Did the far right take to the streets to protest the results of the 2012 election. Not that I recall. Did not the two largest Islam communities in the US (Dearborn Michigan and I forget the other) vote overwhelmingly for Mr. Trump? So Islam is not the issue here it seems. I for one want CHANGE. Mr. Trump, love him or hate him, may bring change. I am sick and I am tired of having my truck broken into in Anchorage. I would like CHANGE. And? I am willing to see what happens. Smiling here in the United Arab Emirates. Feeling very safe here and NOT there in Anchorage. Cap. Well did this get published.

    What a mess.
