Chapter 29:

In Which We Show a Photo Album from Enkewa

Lilac-breasted roller
It's time, before we move to our next camp, to round up some "orphaned" photos taken around Enkewa Camo in the Maasai Mara.

Sometimes they were not included in posts because the post was already too long;  sometimes they just didn't fit in a post.

Before we move to a private conservancy, this is the time for those orphaned photos.
Gray-backed fiscal, a type of shrike.

A Cape buffalo with his collection of red-billed oxpeckers.

A red-headed agama lizard.   All Attitude.

Guide Johnson shows an Africa blood fire lily.   Scadoxus multiflorus

A trio of bateleur eagles.

A baby elephant at a water hole.

Two adult tawny eagles with their juvenile eaglet.

The leopard known  as Kazuri.   Unseen in the tree is her cub.

Kazuri climbs over her cub who is eating the carcass of a small zebra.

Violet-backed starling.

Mousebird.

Lappet-faced vulture.

Lesser masked weaver

Zebras being zebras.   Rolling in the dust for protection from insects.

Bateleur eagle

Gray-crowned crane

Lion cubs.  Note all the flies on the cub's eyes.

Giraffe at sunrise.

Lion pride at sunrise

The following photos are of lion cubs playing.

Cape buffalo in river bottom.

And now to prepare to change camps.    Our journey is drawing to a close.

  1. Deeee Lightful to see these (as you call them) orphan photos. The babies are always cute in this case the baby elephant (photo 6) and the lion cubs (photos 30-31 and 34 to 39). Also loved the zebras being zebras (photos 26 and 27). Fun post. Thanks so very much for your efforts. Cap and Patti
