Half-Baked Alaska No. 6

All summer long, a construction company has been upgrading almost 30 miles of the Seward Highway from Ingram Creek south.

Mmmmm...   New pavement!

The work week was Monday through Thursday, leaving the highway open and free of work crews and heavy equipment during the heavy weekend traffic.

Now, with both winter and the completion date of the contract aproaching, the work week has been extended through Saturday.

Next to roofing, paving has to be the worst job on earth.

The first time I drove past the electronic sign shown below, I thought it was an opportunistic laugh, that the "O"  had failed to light, like the missing "G" in the sign above.

On the way back, I pulled over and took another look.   It was opportunistic, all right, but not a mistake.   Someone had inserted his editorial opinion while entering the message.
